Caroline S. Brooks is a PhD Candidate in the Technical Discourse Program at East Carolina University. Her dissertation focuses on the visual discourse of U.S. Military video games, exploring the visual rhetorics, discursive structures, and virtual topographies within these psychologically persuasive gaming environments. Her secondary area of concentration is online pedagogy within the field of Higher Education, specializing in the development of distance learning instructional materials, including best practices, technology requirements and guidelines for online learning. She received a Master of Science degree in Technical Communication from NC State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from UNC Greensboro, double majoring in Psychology and Art History.
