Introduction: The Serial/Cereal/Surreal Adventure is an exploratory photo-essay documenting the many wonders of the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. I began working on the adventure many years ago, when I first encountered the mall, although then it was more of a fantasy or dream than anything else. As my interest in hyperreal environments became more acute, "the malls project" began to take form. It was then that I decided I would document the mall with pictures and words, and try my best to simulate my experience of simulacra as encountered in the mall. This is the result.

Instructions: To play the in the mall, simply click on the marquee. Once you have entered, navigate its spaces with the four circular buttons. To stop playing, and return to reconstruction.eserver.org, simply select "game over." If you get lost, the Mall of America has provided a map, although it will not help you find your way. And, of course, you can return to this page by pressing "restart." Enjoy your day at the mall.
